It's Official

I HATE MAKING MY LUNCH!!! I'm talking about packing a lunch to take to work (soon to be school). It's got to be one of the most frustrating things for me. This may sound silly to many of you, but I can't help it!! It's a dreadful and painful experience for me!! I think the number 1 reason is that I'm stark out of creative ideas. I am so incredibly sick of sandwiches that I can only handle them once, maybe twice a week. Soup is great in the winter, but not in the swealtering heat of the summer! And buying lunch is WAY, WAY too expensive and generally unhealthy. Ugh! *grumble grumble grumble* Anyway....does anyone else share in this frustration or am I the only "bag lunch hater!!"

On a happy note, my mom and I went shopping for new glasses last night! I found two pairs I'm very happy with (YAY for Shorney's "buy one, get one" deal!) and mom has her's narrowed down to about 5 choices! haha Mine should be in next week!! Yippee! I haven't had new glasses in over 4 years. I'm highly due for some new frames (mine have never quite been the same since Cory Doiron sat on them during Chorale Tour a few years back...haha) and my eyes and head will most definitely appreciate the new prescription! I may just post some pics of the new specs when I get them for your viewing pleasure! :) Until next time....check out my oh so cool little bro's debut into the blogging world here.

I don't have to pack a unch, but if I did I would probably share your frustration. It's hard to find sruff that's portable, appropriate for the season and healthy, as you have mentioned, and that is not a pb & j sandwhich every second day. What about salads? Do you like salads?

Yes! I definitely share in your frustrations!! As a result, I usually end up not eating enough throughout the day, AND I really suck at ever helping my husband pack a lunch. He is really good about fending for himself for lunches, which helps with the daunting task, but still! I hate it too. I usually find the thing that works best is leftovers. Make extras from the night before, then you can take the left over spaghetti or whatever for lunch that day. Also, pasta salads work well, b.c you can make a large batch and then it lasts for a while. I just try to be creative in the sandwich department too. Mix up the types of breads. Like do wraps one week, then pitas, then sub rolls, then go back to regular bread. Also the kinds of sandwiches. Deli meat one week, pbj the next time, turkey cranberry the next time, chicken salad, tuna, etc.
Things like cheese and crackers give a nice break from the monotony too.
Even with all these ideas, it still for some reason seems much like dishes- the job that never ends.

I too shared your frustration. I ate my lunch almost everday so i took hints from what the mothers put in the kids lunchs. But all was very Japanese...so lots a rice, fish, and noddles (I still don't like the idea of eating cold noodles) so i don't think that would help you much. I think I'll be bring a lunch to work in the new year so if you come up with some creative solutions please share

I hate it too. My little bro has some weird diet he has to be on now so he has to pack for EVERYTHING. So I guess I'm thankful I'm not him! haha...but yeah, I pack salads and sandwiches and sometimes just fruit and crackers. Ooh, or chees and fruit...that's good too. In fact...that's what I ate today :) Anyway, I actually just got on here to say...see ya soon!!!!
