What's In A Name...
On Sunday in my small group at young adults, we talked for a couple of minutes about what each of our names mean. That is something I always find so interesting. I love finding out what other people's names mean and then seeing if that actually describes who that person is or represents what their personality is. I knew what my first 2 names meant, but I was curious as to what my 2nd middle name meant and what my last name meant. Here is what my full name means:Amy - [Latin] Beloved
Ruth - [Hebrew] Compassionate Friend
Frances - [Old French] Free
Smith - [English] To smite or strike; A man who works with metal
Ruth - [Hebrew] Compassionate Friend
Frances - [Old French] Free
Smith - [English] To smite or strike; A man who works with metal
I was a bit disappointed in my last name. To smite or strike is not exactly the most flattering of things to say about someone. But I love what my first and middle names mean. What do your names mean? I would be really interested to find out! Here's a couple of sites you can check out if you are curious: Baby Names and Last Names.

Hey Aims,
this site says my name means "Laurel Lily" funny eh?
Laura also means "honor, fame, spirited"
that's not so bad! and I think Mitchell means "big" according to that site, so, well, at least that's true! ;)
SEE YOU THURSDAY! call and tell me a good time
Sarah is Hebrew and means princess, I knew that from before, and the site said that Beth is also Hebrew and means house of God, so that's pretty cool. I didn't find anything about Wiedmaier, but Brown I found out, is derived from color of either hair, skin, or clothes.
