It Is Finished
“They say Aslan is on the move—perhaps has already landed.” And now a very curious thing happened. None of the children knew who Aslan was any more than you do; but the moment the Beaver had spoken these words everyone felt quite different. Perhaps it has sometimes happened to you in a dream that someone says something which you don’t understand but in the dream it feels as if it had some enormous meaning—either a terrifying one which turns the whole dream into a nightmare or else a lovely meaning too lovely to put into words, which makes the dream so beautiful that you remember it all your life and are always wishing you could get into that dream again. It was like that now. At the name of Aslan each one of the children felt something jump in its inside. Edmund felt a sensation of mysterious horror. Peter felt suddenly brave and adventurous. Susan felt as if some delicious smell or some delightful strain of music had just floated by her. And Lucy got the feeling you have when you wake up in the morning and realize that it is the beginning of the holidays or the beginning of summer.~ C.S. Lewis ~ The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
Finally, I have finished reading the complete Chronicles of Narnia. I only started them 4 months ago haha.....but got a little side-tracked when I went back to school this semester. I absolutely LOVED them!! I only wished I had discovered these books years ago! I really enjoyed the whole series and it would be difficult to choose an absolute favorite book. I'd have to say my top 3 would be "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe," "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," and "The Last Battle." Although I really enjoyed "Prince Caspian" because it had all 4 children in it and I just LOVED the Pevensie children. I also really liked "The Magician's Nephew" too though because I loved the creation of Narnia. Probably the one I really wasn't overly interested in was "The Silver Chair." It was just alright. My absolute favorite character, aside from Aslan, would have to be Lucy. I just love how totally immersed she becomes in everything that is happening. And how drawn she is to Aslan as well. Then there was Aslan, so many times I found myself weeping while reading the parts where Aslan visits the characters because it just reminds me so much of how the Lord meets us at different points in our lives. Overall, The Chronicles of Narnia was so awesome! I am definitely going to invest in the books for myself. Hopefully I can read some of them to my future classes and definitely to my children. Thanks to Rob for letting me borrow them! (I also bought the movie the day it came out on DVD and have watched it 1 1/2 times already! haha)
