On the Radar, Off the Radar...

Well, this weekend I experienced some technical difficulties concerning my phone and unintentinally scared a few people. I spent Friday night in Houlton helping out at a Math night for the lower elementary kids at the Academy and then went to a Suprise Birthday Party for my friend Lacey. I stayed over at Pete and Korene Lord's on Friday night. I got back to my apt. shortly after 5pm on Saturday. I went to check my email and my internet wouldn't work. I proceeded to investigate the situation. I messed around with the modem and the computer for quite a while. Then I went to make a phone call and realized my phone was out too. Well, that was annoying! So, I figured maybe there was some sort of area network failure or something since it was beautiful and sunny outside. Well, I did homework and kept checking my phone all evening. Nothing.....got up Sunday morning with plans to go to Houlton once I got the OK from my parents regarding gas......still no phone. So, I decided to stay home. Did more homework and watched a movie. Desperately hoping the phone would come back on soon. No luck. By mid-afternoon I decided that the phone probably wasn't coming back on and that I should probably give my parents a call in case they were trying to call and since I hadn't talked to them since Wed. or Thurs.

Around 4:30pm I drove over to the Rhyno's hoping someone was home and I could use the phone. Nobody was home. I hadn't been back to my apt. very long when Laura Doiron appeared at the door. She said that my mom had called her and was worried about me. Crap...that wasn't good news. She had probably called everyone she knew looking for me. And yes! I was correct! I called her from the Doiron's and she was freaking out. She had called everyone between Presque Isle and Fredericton looking for me. Pete and Korene were on their way up from Houlton to make sure I was alright. So, I called the phone company who couldn't help me but said to call back Monday and they probably could come look at it. Pete and Korene arrived at my place sometime after 5:30pm. They took me out to Tim's for a bite to eat which was super nice of them. Everyone was glad that I was alright and felt bad that the phone was out. I felt super bad that everyone was freaking out but I hadn't thought too much about it and didn't really have any way of getting a hold of anyone anyway.

So, the phone line is finally fixed! They came today and had to run a new line from the pole to the house and then a new line inside the house to my apt. It was quite the ordeal! But I am very glad to have my phone and internet back. I was getting a bit uneasy about being here alone without any contact to the outside world. I'm back on the radar again! haha It was nice to know that there are people out there who care enough about me to jump in their car and drive 45 just to check on me! I'm soooooo very thankful for all of the AMAZING people the Lord has blessed me with in my life!
