I Love Kindergarten

I really do! I started volunteering at the Greater Houlton Christian Academy once a week on Thursdays in the Kindergarten class. I'm working with the same teacher and teacher's aid that I worked with on my student teaching there last spring and it's been so much fun. I forgot just how much I absolutely LOVE working with Kindergarten students. They are so much fun. You never know what they are going to come out with or what hilarious thing they are going to do next. Their innocence makes my heart melt and yet thier surprising grasp of other things just amazes me. When I arrived this week, I barely got inside the door before one of the little boys came over and showed me a picture. His new baby sister had been born the day before. He was SOO proud!! He showed everyone who came in the door and barely put the picture down the entire day. He couldn't even concentrate on his seat work because he just sat there and stared at the picture. It was so adorable! That was my favorite moment from this week. Hopefully someday I'll get to be the teacher of a kindergarten class of my very own and enjoy special moments like this every day!! :)

I too enjoy kindergarten and have been substitute teaching at the elementary school here in Andover. This past week I got to teach three kindergarten classes Phys.Ed which was fun.

I realize that you must be getting ready to student teach again, and I'd like you to e-mail me as there is a possible way you might be able to work around it. My e-mail is: sarahcanney@yahoo.ca. I'll fill you in then!
