Today...
Well, today I went to the doctor. I hate going to the doctor but I've been having these knife stabbing pains in my chest from time to time the past 3 or more weeks and my mom was kinda worried....and I was annoyed. So, I went today. And the doctor thinks that I have pleurisy. Let me give you a little explanation:"Pleurisy, also called pleuritis, is an inflammation of the pleura, which is the moist, double-layered membrane that surrounds the lungs and lines the rib cage. The condition can make breathing extremely painful, and sometimes it is associated with another condition called pleural effusion where excess fluid fills the area between the membrane's layers. The double-layered pleura protects and lubricates the surface of the lungs as they inflate and deflate within the rib cage. Normally, a thin, fluid-filled gap -- the pleural space -- allows the two layers of the pleural membrane to slide gently past each other. But when these layers become inflamed, their roughened surfaces rub painfully together like two pieces of sandpaper with every breath, sneeze, and cough. "
So there ya have it folks. And guess what the doctor prescribed?! Areobic exercise for 30 minutes at least 3 times a week. She said that the cause is probably just that I'm not working my lungs to their full capacity like...ever! haha But she's also sending me for a chest x-ray just to make sure there is nothing wrong inside my lungs. That does not make me excited. I was hoping she could give me some drugs or something to make it go away. But no. So, I guess I'm going to have to start exercising regularly...this does not excite me b/c I hate to exercise alone....and I'm not very good at it. I'm practically the queen of talking myself out of exercising when it comes to getting up in the morning and doing it. Blah! However, she did write me a thingy so that I can go to physiotherapy for the whip lash that I got from my stupid car accident in July cause it's been REALLY bothering me lately. Woo Hoo! So that's what's new in my life. 5 more days til Christmas! YAY!!
