Prayer...
"It is not enough to begin to pray, nor to pray aright; nor is it enough to continue for a time to pray; but we must patiently, believingly continue in prayer, until we obtain an answer; and further, we have not only to continue in prayer unto the end, but we have also to believe that God does hear us and will answer our prayers. Most frequently we fail in not continuing in prayer until the blessing is obtained, and in not expecting the blessing." ~George MüllerWow! Did this ever hit me today when I read it. I am so guilty of this so often in my prayer life. I pray for something once, but then may never bring it to the Lord again. But that's not what the Lord wants from us. We need to continue to seek Him until we have an answer. It may not always be the answer we were hoping for, but it will be the answer that God sees best. I was very challenged by this thought today. Challenged to step it up in my prayer life. Not only do I need to bring my request to Him, but continue to bring it to Him until I have received an answer. I also need to pray with expectation that God will hear my petitions and will answer me. What an awesome thought. To think that the God of the universe hears my prayers and that He cares about them and me. What an awesome God we serve!
