Booster - A Refreshing Weekend...

This weekend was an awesome, uplifting time for me. I went with the youth group from Houlton, ME and it was soo good to reconnect with the girls and guys that I had worked as a youth leader with while I was on my student teaching. It was also really great to spend time with my cousins again (Rev. Dave, Vicki, and Victoria Rowe). Seeing as I lived with them on my student teaching, I have missed them terribly since I left. It was awesome to spend some quality time with them.

Going back to Bethany was sooo refreshing too. It was almost overwhelming to step into the sanctuary on Friday right before service. I got so many hugs and saw so many people that it was just a blur for a few minutes! The services were soo powerful too. The worship was an incredible time for me. The presence of the Lord was sooo evident and there were a couple songs that fit soo perfectly with what my heart has been feeling lately. I was so able to pour my heart out to the Lord and just feel Him love and comfort me in return. Matt LeRoy was a great speaker also. He was really funny and I think he met the teens right where they were at. The Lord used him for sure. He really wanted us to be surprised at how the Lord looks at us and it was a powerful reminder for me. I can be so down on myself at times and convince myself that I am unlovely or unworthy of someone else's love. But it was such a sweet reminder of just how much God loves me. God wants me to take a look at myself and praise Him for the way He made me. He created me with a specific purpose and passion. God has shaped me specifically to fit just where He wants me.

And of couse it was SOOOO AWESOME to get to spend time with friends. I think that has been the hardest thing this year. Being away from friends. First on my student teaching, then this summer, and now fall. I always knew my time at Bethany would have to come to an end at some point, but I never could have imagined how painful it would be to leave all my friends. Seeing friends who now live far away, and even those who don't was soooo incredibly nice. It felt like coming home! Oh how I miss everyone so much. I love you all and I'm soo thankful for the time we had together this weekend. And I just have to say that I love Emily Brewer more and more each time I see her! :) Such a cutie!

My new favourite worship song is "Rescue" by Jared Anderson. It speaks so perfectly to my heart right now.

You are the source of life
I can’t be left behind
No one else will do
I will take hold of You

I need You Jesus
To come to my rescue
Where else can I go?
There’s no other name by
Which I am saved
Capture me with grace
I will follow You

This world has nothing for me
I will follow You
This world has nothing for me
I will follow You

Hey Amy,

I love living in the south, but I miss being able to go to things like Booster. I am glad to hear that you are doing well. I will pray that God would surround you with some close friends in your area. I remember being on my internship and feeling like by the time I made friends I was ready to leave. But I just have to face facts. There are no friends like BBC friends!
