Christmas Is Coming
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." ~Isaiah 9:6I'm getting so excited about Christmas. This is my absolute favourite time of the year!! But I am so disappointed and frustrated with the way our society today is trying to take Christmas out of this season. Pastor Rick was talking about that tonight and it's been on my mind a lot lately too. It seems each year it gets worse. We are supposed to call our Christmas trees, "Holiday Trees" and kids can't sing Christmas songs or have Christmas concerts or even learn and celebrate Christmas in our public schools anymore for fear they might offend someone. Well, what about people like me whom they are offending by taking my Christ and Christmas out of this "holiday" season? Without Him there is NO Christmas. There is no point to this special season if it weren't for Him. As for me, I will continue to wish people a Merry Christmas and I will continue to put up a Christmas tree in my house. I refuse to ignore the true reason for the season.
Tonight I went to the "Light Parade" here in Presque Isle with Laura, Lisa, Seth, and Rob. It was rediculously frigid out tonight and I think I almost lost my toes, but it was fun. It's been a while since I've been to a Christmas Parade. The last time would probably have been my sophmore year at Bethany when I rode on the XD float. Good times! Then after the parade, The LaPointes were here for a Christmas Concert. They are soo great! And Andy sang "O Holy Night" which was soooo powerful as usual! I can't wait for Christmas Eve to hear it again. Yay! Well, only 1 more day until my precious Kate comes to visit and 11 more days until I am home! Woo Hoo!! I can't wait! I so love my house at Christmas. The way it feels sitting in our family room drinking egg nog or hot cider in the soft glow of the Christmas tree watching a Christmas special on TV. Or enjoying good food and laughs with friends on Christmas Eve at our traditional Christmas Eve gathering at my house. I love the candlelight service at church and the excited/warm fuzzy feeling I always have on Christmas Eve and waking up on Christmas morning. It certainly is "the most wonderful time of the year!"
Merry Christmas!!!
Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad
Prospero año y Felicidad
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas
From the bottom of my heart
